Snapchat is a lively experience but it still remains a photo messaging app which allows users send self-destructing photos and videos. This app is designed in the way that makes sure the pictures shared on the app cannot be stored without the sender being notified. That means whenever a user tries to capture a screenshot, the app make sure to alert the users that a screen shot is taken, i.e. app notifies both the person in the chat that the screenshot is captured. Here we will tell you about the way which don’t involve any third party app and will allow you to capture screenshot without notifying the other person.
Now follow these simple steps which will help you to take screenshot on Snapchat without the other person knowing:
  • Now first thing you have to make sure is that Snapchat’s Travel Mode is not enabled and your phone is not in the battery saving mode. Both the modes pauses the background app activity and the snaps you take will not be loaded automatically and that is important for this method to work.
  • When you receive the snap, you want to take screenshot of don’t open the app instantly. Instead wait for few seconds so that the snap is automatically loaded in the background. Now turn off the Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  • Now open Snapchat and view the snap you want to take screenshot of and take screenshot quickly before time runs out.
  • After taking screenshot close the app and go to android’s setting -> apps -> Snapchat -> storage and tap on clear cache.
  • Once you have cleared cache of Snapchat, turn off the Wi-Fi and use the app normally like you use and you can notice that no screenshot notification is shown on your or sender’s app that says “You/Friend took a screenshot”.
We already have tested this method and it works precisely. But this method is only for Android Smartphone. But for iPhone users, there is a third party app Sneakaboo that will allow you to take screenshot on Snapchat. Other methods are too available but that will require to jailbreak your iPhone.
