Germany-based software company G Data has just released a new secure messaging application to the Google Play Store. It’s called G Data Secure Chat, and it offers users secure end-to-end encryption for individual and group chats, as well as the ability to quickly and securely send images and photos.
As far as features are concerned, Secure Chat provides just about everything you could want from a secure messaging platform. It features a built-in self-destruct timer which will allow the sender to specify when a text or image will be deleted, even on the recipient’s mobile device. It allows you to back up your chat history to your SD card, and even encrypt your local chat history using a password. These features are all available in the free version of the app.
With the premium version, Secure Chat features a phishing filter for URLs in chat messages, as well as a filter for incoming and outgoing SMS. You can even hide SMS messages from specific contacts. The premium version requires a valid G Data Internet Security for Android license, which you can purchase from G Data’s website.
If you’re at all worried about other people getting a hold of your private SMS messages, G Data Secure Chat might be the application you’ve been waiting for. Plus, it’s available now on Google Play for free, so what do you have to lose? Follow the Play Store link to try it out for yourself, and check out the press release attached below for more information.
