Work has become much more convenient and fun since the discovery of cloud storage. People are adopting to some or other cloud storage. Dropbox has large user base. Google’s Drive is also leading the race. Google Drive offers great features and it’s highly integrated with other Google apps and services.




1. Offline Mode

There are many situations where you have to work with out the internet connection. Google’s offline drive comes very handy at such times. You can install Google Drive on your PC or Mac and use it offline. You can create, view and edit documents in offline mode. You can even install Chrome plugin. To activate offline mode, go to Drive account > Settings > General > Sync Google Doc, Sheets, Slides, Drawings. 

2. Search Links Within Document

Adding links to the document is tedious job. You can search links within the document using Google Drive. Normally, when you want to add links to a document, you have to open new browser tab, search for the page you want to link and copy the URL. With Google Search, you can highlight the text that you want to hyperlink, select Insert > Link, and type your search into link dialog box that appears. Google will also display the list of matches, you can choose from the list and add the link to your text.

3. Track Of Revision History
Keeping track of all changes made to a document is fairly simple with Google Drive. You can go through the log of all changes made to a document or presentation within one window in Drive. You can even revert to earlier versions of the file if needed. To check the history of revisions of Docs, Sheets, Slides or Drawings, click File > See revisions history. You can select a timestamp in the revision pane to see that version of the file. You will see names of each person who edited it below the timestamp. You can also preview the exact edits that they made to document. 

4. Web Clipboard

Web Clipboard is very less known feature of Google Drive. Web Clipboard lets you copy and paste data across Docs, Sheets and Slides. Web Clipboard holds multiple items at ones. You can access to all the content on clipboard across all your devices associated with Google account. To use the web clipboard, select some text, a drawing or other data and go to Edit > Web Clipboard > Copy to web clipboard. You can clear the items on web clipboard when it gets full. Web clipboard gets automatically cleared after 30 days.

5. Publish To Web


Sharing feature is great tool on Google Drive. You can publish the document on Google Drie with just one click. To publish a document, sheet, presentation or drawing, open the file and click File > Publish to the Web. You will find customization options for certain type of files. You can customize and choose to share the entire spreadsheet or just individual sheet in the spreadsheet. You an even choose the image size of drawing while sharing it. You can copy the public link and send it to people.
