Telegram combines the fast and useful features found in WhatsApp with encryption and high privacy measurements, thanks to a custom data protocol, which is open, secure and optimized for multiple data centers. You can send messages, photos, and other files to fellow Telegram users in your contacts.

YouTube

You are able to enjoy YouTube videos easily on Firefox OS. The YouTube app is pretty solid and works surprisingly well. If you previously had it on your Android or iOS device, you will probably want to have it on on your Firefox OS device too.

OpenWapp

Understandingly, sometimes one must actually use a WhatsApp account. If that’s the case for you, OpenWapp is the way to go. It lets you connect your WhatsApp account to chat with your contacts, whether they use the official WhatsApp application or not.
As there is no official WhatsApp for Firefox OS yet, OpenWapp makes it easy to connect with your WhatsApp friends. It’s also an open source project, which allows you to view and change the code.

F&C

F&C gives an easy overview of current weather conditions as well as conditions for the next three days. You can set the location via geolocation or manually using the search option. The temperature is available in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, and it can be easily changed by tapping on the unit symbol.


8tracks

8tracks.com is an Internet radio and social networking website revolving around the concept of streaming user-curated playlists consisting of at least 8 tracks.
You can pick fresh playlists from a selection of more than 750,000, each curated by someone who knows & loves music. If you struggle to find good music to fit your current mood, have a spin at 8tracks.

Kayak

Kayak is one of the best travel search engines. You can book a Hotel, flight, and search for available cars. It also lets you track your flights and manage your itineraries.

Aviary

Aviary is a fun little photo editing tool, which allows you to edit and stylize your photos with filters, change and fix colors, crop, rotate and straighten images, and even allows you create your own memes.
It also lets you draw on top of other images if you feel a little more creative. Perfect for casual photo lovers.

Facebook

The Facebook app is nothing but a shortcut to the mobile version of Facebook, however it does the job. It’s very useful to have Facebook as a Firefox OS app to keep it as accessible as other apps.

Firetext

Firetext is a word processor for Firefox OS that gives users professional productivity power in their pockets. Firetext can be used to take notes and edit plain-text files on the go. It is also open source, which means you can fork it to your liking if you feel a little geeky.


XE Currency

With the XE Currency app you can convert every world currency you need. The app offers live proprietary currency rates and charts, and even stores the last updated rates, making it work offline.
It has some neat features too: for example. you can shake the device to reset the conversion rate.

Twitter

The Twitter app is essentially just the mobile web version of Twitter. It’s not as fully featured as the Android version and doesn’t support push notifications yet, but the main features are already there.

LastPass

LastPass is a great password manager and vault which is available for almost all platforms. However, due to the limitations of Firefox OS (prior to 2.0) the app is currently unable to fill forms automatically for you. This should hopefully change with the release of Firefox OS 2.0. If you already are a LastPass user, give this app a try. It might be still limited, but this will most likely change soon.

Notes

As the name says, Notes is a notes app. However it’s an official Firefox OS app, and while simple, it offers a variety of neat features such as adding images, organizing your notes into notebooks and even connecting your Evernote account.

Wikipedia

Wikipedia has a version for Firefox OS, which has an intuitive interface, all required language options, and some other features, like remembering the last article you read.
It features basic Wikipedia Zero detection to let you know if your ISP has zero-rated the data access usage for Wikipedia. This is a must-have app.

Pinterest

Unlike Twitter or Facebook for Firefox OS, the Pinterest app is optimized for Firefox OS and has additional features implemented, such as sharing pins via the Firefox share button. Very useful if you use Pinterest from time to time.
